Job Title:  Pastor of Emmaus Eccumenical Catholic Community

Summary:

Emmaus Ecumenical Catholic Community of Oshkosh is seeking a Part Time Pastor  to serve the parish liturgically, spiritually, organizationally, and in community relationships.

Emmaus is a small and active, non-hierarchical community.  The spirit of our mission statement entails a striving for social justice and equality among all peoples.  Our community is an open, inclusive, accepting, and affirming church as we live out our Christ given mission in the world.

Emmaus is an inclusive Christian Community that loves, celebrates, and serves God, one another, and the world.

Qualifications:

  • The Pastor will be an ordained Ecumenical Catholic Communion (ECC) presbyter or be eligible to be ECC ordained or incardinated.

  • The Pastor will have experience in inclusive leadership and ministering to diverse peoples.

  • The applicant’s acceptance for the position of Pastor is conditional on successful completion of a criminal background check, and includes contacting references, for the purposes of confirming the applicant’s suitability for the position of Pastor.  The applicant agrees to provide consent for such background checks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead Sunday service, sacraments, ceremonies, and rituals.

  • Actively engage in personal, spiritual, and pastoral learning/growth opportunities.

  • Lead Emmaus in exploring its faith and spiritual growth.

  • Administer to Parish members in need of spiritual counseling.

  • Collaborate with the presbyters and laity to lead the parish community.

  • Serve as delegate to the ECC House of Pastors and the ECC Mid-America Diocese.

  • Attend and/or provide guidance in community meetings including Parish Council, various committees, and ministry teams.

  • Collaborate with laity on behalf of Emmaus to represent and promote the parish in the greater community through cross denominational meetings or events, and to warmly engage new members and friends.

  • Commit to 15 hours of service to and on behalf of the community each week.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in an office and varied church settings.

  • Ability to preside for various services on weekends and occasional weekday evenings.

  • May require extended periods of driving, standing, or sitting. 

  • Position requires travel within the community and some extended travel as a representative for Emmaus.
